Is autohotkey bannable?

This article states

"Any third-party modification to a game designed to give one player an advantage over another is classified as a cheat or hack and will trigger a VAC ban."

VAC probably can't detect difference between scripts that give advantage or not, so don't use them in VAC-enabled games. Also "Use caution when installing any game modifications, such as scripts or custom skins."

By scripts, they mean .cfg scripts that can be run with "exec scriptname.cfg" through valve games' consoles.

This list doesn't say that Macros made with AHK aren't bannable [confusing sentence, I mean that they might be bannable]:

The following will not trigger a VAC ban:
◾Using chat programs
◾System hardware configurations
◾Updated system drivers, such as video card drivers

However, searching over reddit and steam users' forums showed that some people get banned and some don't, they recommend not using mouse hooks etc. as they might trigger VAC.

Some people say bannable, some don't. If you say "better safe than sorry", don't use it. If you don't care about VAC bans, give it a shot. I personally don't use it in VAC-enabled games.
